THE CHEF YAN CAN STORY
I am Martin Yan, I welcomed you all to visit my very first restaurant in the Midwest area. Chef Yan Can is my new Chinese restaurant concept to focus on my signature dishes. With my ancestral roots from Guangdong, China, I wanted to create dishes that I grew up with and what I liked to eat daily. Chef Yan Can restaurant specializes in southern style food such rice dishes, noodles and Dim Sum. I am planning to bring to my kitchen other dishes I learned from local chefs in Asia and dishes I created on my TV cooking shows and my books. I have travelled worldwide throughout my career and learned so much about local food from every corner in Asia such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Korea and China.
At my place, we are committed to bringing you my signatures dishes packed with local fresh ingredients and served piping hot, with my secret sauces. Each dish carries different spices and ingredients from each country – allowing us to bring the unique flavors from all over Asia, to our kitchen and directly to your table.
